Friday is the fifth anniversary of the tornado that killed six people in Picher.

The tornado devastated the small town. Picher was also part of the Tar Creek Superfund site, which was contaminated after decades of zinc and lead mining.

In 2011, crews began demolishing more than 200 homes and business that were bought by the government. Now only four historical properties are still standing in the town.
