Pedestrian struck by 2 vehicles, dies in the roadway

Oklahoma Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatality accident a half a mile outside Durant on US-69 involving a pedestrian around 7:30 Friday night.

A 2006 Kia was going northbound on the inside lane of US-69 when a pedestrian ran into the roadway. The pedestrian was struck on the passenger side of the Kia. The driver of the Kia,19-year-old Ricki Braziell, stopped the car to check on the pedestrian but before she could get back to the scene another driver struck the pedestrian, who was lying in the roadway.

The second vehicle has not been identified pending investigation.

The pedestrian is a white male and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was transported to the medical examiner's office in Oklahoma City. His identity has not yet been released, pending investigation.

No other injuries were reported in this accident.
