Turner Turnpike has reopened from Chandler to Stroud.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority closed eastbound lanes of the Turner Turnpike from Chandler to Stroud because of pavement issues.

Officials told FOX23 there was pavement failure within a construction zone. They said it could be a sinkhole. Crews began work on the area at 8 p.m. Monday night. They dug it out and repaired it overnight.

Officials said the failure was between mile marker 172 and 173.  They also said warm weather and soft soil near a creek bed contributed to the issue.

The pavement failure was in the only lane open on the turnpike due to construction. Traffic will have to exit at Chandler and get back on the turnpike at Stroud. Tolls will be adjusted.
