The Oklahoma National Guard’s 1220th Engineer Company is preparing for deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
They will deploy on Tuesday, February 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Boulevard Christian Church at located at 1700 W. Shawnee Street in Muskogee, Okla.
The 1220th Engineer Company, headquartered in Muskogee, Okla., is a horizontal construction company comprised of more than 160 Soldiers. While deployed to Afghanistan, the 1220th will build and demolish roadways and other paved surfaces for Afghan and coalition forces.
The 1220th will deploy to Paktika Province, Afghanistan, in March with more than 150 highly trained and motivated Soldiers. They will be mobilized for a total of one year and deployed to Afghanistan for approximately nine months.
