The City of Owasso will appeal an abritrator's decision to let an officer accused of being aggressive with a suspect back on the force.

FOX23 obtained video of the controversial 2011 arrest. It shows Bryan Spradlin being dragged into the jail and elbowed in the face by the officer.

Owasso police officer Mike Denton was fired last November because of the incident but last week an arbitrator re-instated him after reviewing the video. City councilors discussed the video at a meeting on Tuesday night.

Damned wife beaters are about in the same category as a child molester in my book. The police get called out to the same addresses over and over until something really bad happens.I can find no excuse for hitting a woman but I would have a very hard time restraining myself to keep from popping this coward wife beater a good one.

The camera system only exposed what many (including the naive city leaders) didnt want to believe. The same thing would happen in Tulsa.

The Board needs to let Denton go,People like that is what puts fear in people who get stopped for something and wonders if the same thing could happen to them. The Police is there to Protect us Not Beat us due to a bad day.

I have a buddy who was also claims he was assaulted by officer Denton during an arrest and have heard things about him around town that don't reflect good on his character. Hope they fire this joker! Most of the OPD are nice folks just trying to do their jobs and this reflects poorly on them.
