After a massive social media campaign, a special needs Owasso student took the court with the Owasso Basketball team on Tuesday night.
The stadium was packed for the big game, as people from across Green Country came to watch Nathan play.
Nathan Mitcham has been the boys varsity basketball manager for three years. Teammates began a push on social networking site Twitter to get support for Mitcham to suit up and play a game with the team.
The campaign used a special hashtag, #DressNathanOut and gained attention from celebrities such as Carrie Underwood, Kevin Durant and Oprah.
Mitcham played on Tuesday night against Sand Springs and scored eight points while he was on the court. After the game his teammates lifted him on his shoulders while the crowd cheered.
