The Owasso Police Department wants to identify a suspect who allegedly tried to abduct an 11-year old boy near the Greens Apartments, near the intersection of 84th St N and 133rd East Avenue, in Owasso.

Like any active young boy, Zared Cole loves to play tag outside with his friends.

It was around 8 in the evening on August 29th when his neighbors left to go inside. It was then that Zared says a man appeared out of nowhere.

"Somebody grabbed me from behind and I thought it was my friend at first,” he says.

When he realized it wasn't, fear began to set in.

"I just thought he was going to take me, but I don't know what he was going to do with me,” says Zared.

That's when he says he began fighting to break free.

"He was standing over here and I elbowed him like this and ran off as fast as I could,” says the boy.

His mother Amanda was inside the apartment cleaning at the time.
She tells FOX23 she immediately noticed something was wrong with her son when he came inside.

"I was like are you okay, and he said no mom somebody just tried to take me,” says his mother, Amanda Henson.

Scared for his life, she called 911. Owasso police came out but couldn't find the man.

Amanda says she so grateful Zared was able to fight off his attacker.

“I have always taught my kids that if somebody grabs you need to do whatever means possible to get out of their arms,” she says.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 6'4", slim build with a dragon tattoo on his right forearm and wearing a black T-Shirt with "Stewie" from Family Guy on the front and a black ski mask.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Jason Woodruff at the Owasso Police Department at 918-272-2244.
