A man accused of making sexual proposals to children at an Owasso playground is under investigation.

Owasso police say they arrested Jeffrey Hines, 46, for pubic public intoxication on July 26.

"If someone is drunk around the kids, they need to be gone and escorted by police," said Owasso mother Jorjann Barnes.

FOX23 News has learned that man is being investigated for making lewd proposals to at least three alleged victims who were teenage boys at Funtastic Island at 10300 East 116th Street North in Owasso.

"I think it's very bold and someone like that needs to be caught," said Bartlesville mother Emily Hambright.

When FOX23 News spoke to parents at Funtastic Island they were worried.

"I hope that nothing bad happen," said Barnes.

FOX23 News told them about a police investigation where a man allegedly made sexual proposals to children at Funtastic Island.

"It makes me cautious," said Hambright.

For Emily Hambright's family trips to Funtastic Island are big because they travel from Bartlesville to enjoy the playground.

She and Barnes says they hope Hines doesn't come back or anyone who wants to prey on children.

"These are my kids and I don't want anything happening to them; they are my most precious thing in the world,” said Barnes.

FOX23 News saw Owasso police patrolling the park Thursday night.

Correction: In an early form of this story, we reported that Jeffery Hines was arrested for DUI in 2009.

That is incorrect. That was another Jeffery Hines.

Drunk and terribly stupid. Still that's no excuse for that kind of behavior. I guess the next step is the futile exercise on how to fix stupid. It hasn't happened yet :-|
