FOX23 went to Owasso on Friday to check out road conditions.
At last check Highway 169 was relatively clear, and with treatment and the sun the side streets turned to slush during the day.
Friday night many Owasso neighborhoods looked like a ghost town. There was a reason for that.
What was slush was ice by 5:30 pm.
"I slid a couple of times on the way here," Owasso driver Kara Armstrong told FOX23 in a shopping center parking lot.
FOX23 found the light reflecting off the icy neighborhood streets to show just how slick the streets are.
It was an icy mess in all the Owasso neighborhoods we visited.
"The neighborhood was bad. You have to be careful, but once you get on the highway it's fine," Deborah Martin said of the roads in Owasso Friday night.
She was right: Highway 169 is clear for the most part, but officials are still asking you to take it slow.
Owasso police tell FOX23 of the nearly 15 wrecks they responded to on Friday, most of them were on the highway.
They say people are going too fast for the conditions.
FOX23 spotted a car off Highway 169 at 86th Street North Friday night.
Those are the scenes that kept some people we talked to tucked in.
"I'm staying home though," Michael Outing said.
