An Owasso homeowner stood his ground and shot a man in the leg who tried to break into his home on Sunday night.

The Owasso Police Department told FOX23 they received a 911 call from a homeowner in the 9900 block of East 100th Place North around 8:30 p.m.

The homeowner reported that someone was trying to break into his house.

While officers were responding, dispatchers told them that the homeowner fired gunshots at the suspect.

Officers said they arrived at the home and found Timothy Wall on the back patio of the residence with a gunshot wound in his thigh.

Neighbors told FOX23 that the ordeal rattled the neighborhood.

"There are children everywhere on this street so it's very scary," said one resident.

Kathy didn't want to reveal her identity on camera but said that lately, the Owasso neighborhood hasn't been as serene as it appears.

"The whole neighborhood is terrified."

Owasso police said that Wall was treated at the scene and then transported to the hospital.
