Friendship Baptist Church, in Owasso, dropped the price of gas for two hours Wednesday evening.

Customers got a 50-cent-per-gallon discount at the Shell station off 86th Street North and 169.

"This is a great opportunity for us to touch the community," said senior pastor Linzie Slayden.

Church members pumped gas, handed out water and prayed with customers.

"I was right on empty," said Karen Jones. "I think it's an awesome thing to do. Just the blessings they're bestowing on everyone."

This is the seventh year the church has done the Buy Down program for the community.

However, this is the first year the program lasted for two hours.
