Opening statements began on Tuesday in the trial of one man accused in the contract killing of Neal Sweeney.

Fred Shields is accused of conspiracy to commit murder for the death of the businessman.  In August, a jury convicted Terrico Bethel for being the gunman in the shooting death of Sweeney. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Another suspect, Alonzo Johnson, is scheduled to go on trial in December.
