According to Cometric, a website sales tracking firm, the latest numbers show on-line sales were up 11% from last year's Cyber Monday.
Internet and store sales are proven to be profitable, the reason J.C. Penney is tossing its "Big Book" catalog in 2010.
"It's a huge book with lots of pages, lots of preparation, lots of pre-planning, the fashion industry needs a quick turnaround," Promenade Mall J.C. Penney Store Manager Ron Kise said. "80% of our customers go on-line now. It's much more relevant and much more current and people like shopping on the internet. "
The company says in a statement on its website that the new marketing strategy will allow it to focus on enhancing the customer experience, catering to the needs of the on-line and in-store clientèle.
