One fatality in the small plane crash in Owasso

FOX23 confirmed with Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Owasso Police Department that a small engine plane crashed in a wooded area of 98th St. North, 1/2 mile East of Memorial around 4pm Sunday. FOX23 is live at the scene now as the story unfolds.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells FOX23 the plane nose-dived and a small fire sparked. The fire has been contained and there has been no structural damage to any other areas around the crash. 

OHP has reported one fatality in this crash but they are not releasing the name of the victim at this time. 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers are working with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration as they investigate this aircraft collision further. OHP tells FOX23 the National Transportation Safety Board will be the investigating authority in this case.
