An overnight shooting in east Tulsa left one man dead and police searching for the gunman.

It happened at the Studio 6 Extended Stay Motel near 41st Street and south Memorial Drive just after midnight Sunday.

Tulsa Police tell FOX23 an argument got out of hand at an alleyway just inside the parking lot entrance.
Kaylee Hodge was stunned when she looked out her window.

"I saw flashing lights and policeman, and I didn't know what to think," she told FOX23. "I don't need to be around this."

She said just after midnight an officer knocked on her door.

He told her about the shooting and asked if she knew anything.

"I was still awake. I was in there watching a movie, and I didn't hear a thing," Hodge said.

Other people living in the area told FOX23 the same.

Leif Emmett was asleep before an officer knocked on his door.

"I came out and there it was, just chaos," he said.

Tulsa police say when they arrived, they found two cars parked nose to nose: a black Impala and a red Elantra.

Police aren't certain why they were meeting in such a position, but they do know the victim and shooter got into a fight.

The 37-year-old victim was shot twice, once in the leg, and once in the chest.

The victim was conscious when police arrived and they were able to speak with him before he was taken to Saint Francis Hospital, where he died.

Hodge is still shaken up about the homicide.

"I didn't sleep well at all," Hodge said.

She may even consider moving.

Police have identified the victim, but they aren't releasing his name at this time. They also tell FOX23 they have no suspects as of yet.

If you have any information they ask that you call Crimestoppers at 918-596-2677.
