The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office is conducting crime deterrent directed patrols throughout the county.
Officials say these extra crime prevention efforts started at the beginning of December and will continue till the end of the year. Deputies from the agency's Special Operations Team and Investigations units will staff these proactive patrols.
The crime deterrent directed patrols will involve uniformed deputies in both marked and unmarked patrol vehicles.
During previous campaigns the patrols interrupted a daytime burglary, made several arrest for the manufacture of methamphetamine, and numerous arrests for various crimes and outstanding warrants.
"As before, our team has analyzed crime reporting data and will again be using the information to guide where the patrols will be concentrated," Sheriff Eddy Rice said. "Our Deputies continue combat crime and protect lives and property. This program works because of the support the citizens of the County."
Citizens who have information about crime and who wish to remain anonymous may contact the Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office TIPLINE at 918-516-8332.
