Four Oklahoma airports are among the dozens of small airports where control towers will close due to sequestration.
Towers at Lawton-Fort Sill Regional, University of Oklahoma Westheimer, Wiley Post and Stillwater Regional are on the list provided by the FAA. Officials say the airports have until March 13th to fight to keep their towers open. Two other Oklahoma towers were on the list for possible closure, but will remain open.
Those closures will begin in early April and remain closed until the FAA has increased funding to operate them. Federal Air Traffic controllers also face furloughs because of the budget cuts.
