An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper rescued a dog on the side of the highway in Stroud on Friday.

Lt. Steven Swann saw the dog off I-44 near mile marker 177 in Stroud and stopped to pick him up.

He said the dog had a collar but no tags, and he’ll check nearby houses to see if the dog just wandered away from home.

Until then the dog is staying at the Turnpike Maintenance building in Stroud.

I am very happy to see a story like this and to see an Oklahoma Trooper saving a dog! Good job Lt. Swann! A trooper with a big heart makes for a better trooper and a better person! Again, way to go Lt. Swann! YOU ROCK!!! :)

Good. They need someone (the dog) there to help fill the empty hours.
