The Oklahoma Blood Institute wrapped up a blood drive Saturday.

The drive started Tuesday and ended Saturday afternoon at the Promenade Mall.

More than 200 people donated blood.

The OBI says this blood drive is important to keep their blood supply stocked.

"We service several hospitals throughout Oklahoma," mobile supervisor LaWanda McElwee said. "Blood only has a shelf life for 42 days, you can donate every 56 days, so we try to keep our shelves stocked so we can keep our hospitals up to par when they need it."

Anyone can donate blood for the OBI at their 81st Street and Yale Avenue location at any time.
