Okla. woman sentenced for writing fake checks

A woman accused of making and cashing counterfeit checks will go to prison.

The United States Attorney’s office in the Eastern Oklahoma District sentenced Taisha O’Brien to 47 months in federal prison without parole for making and cashing fake checks.

Prosecutors said O’Brien would use computers to print off fake checks and then cash them at various banks around Eastern Oklahoma. 

O’Brien has also been ordered to pay over $5,000 dollars in restitution.
