Two Sapulpa police officers are recovering Wednesday after they were hit by a speeding pick-up.

Sapulpa police say an officer clocked a man driving more than 80mph on Highway 66 around 4:30pm.  When the officer attempted to pull the speeder over, he took off down a neighborhood street and rammed through a fence to a dead end near Cobb & Moccasin Streets in Sapulpa.

Police say that's when the driver slammed into both officers, one as he was getting out of his squad car.  The other squad car was hit head on before the pick-up came to a stop.

The driver attempted to flee but police caught him quickly.

The officers were taken to a hospital but are expected to be okay.

The driver faces a speeding charge, and possibly other charges.
