Thousands of orange-clad OSU Cowboys fans surrounded the AT&T Stadium for hours Friday, tailgating and preparing for the big game.
It was the calm before the storm, before the seats were filled and while crews prepared for the big game, it was the true diehard tailgaters proving their game.
"They made sure to know what time the lot opened so we could get out here and get a spot," said Jamie Tapp, an OSU fan from Wagoner.
Some fans came so early that they got in trouble with stadium staff.
"We thought the parking lots open at noon, but turns out it was 1. So, we got an early start, which we weren't supposed to do," said Marquette Bugg, an OSU fan from Stillwater.
True dedication with temperatures in the upper 30s.
"It's the wind more than anything that's making it difficult," said Bugg.
"I didn't think it would be this cold. We were hoping for a little bit nicer weather. But we were excited to get down here and see friends and see a good game," said Tapp.
But with hours to fill before the game.
"We've got plenty of games to play, some footballs to throw around. So, it's a marathon, not a race," said Tapp
