Players from the Oklahoma State Cowboy basketball team visited kids at St. Francis hospital today who are battling illnesses.

Some of the kids were shy, and others were ready to smile for the camera.

The players handed out black and orange basketballs to many of the kids in the hospital.

Coach Travis Ford said, "If we can put a smile on their face and make the day a little bit better then that's what its all about."

That's something Marcus Smart knows a thing or two about.

He lost his brother to cancer.

He says bringing a smile to the kids faces and giving them hope means a lot to him- and the whole team.

Coach Ford says his team members work hard on the court, but it's what they do off the court that's so important.

Ford said, "We've got some good basketball players on our team, but we've got better people. And that's what makes my job so much fun, when you go to work and go to practice and be around such great guys."
