Earlier in the week crime in Tulsa has dropped this past year.

Homicides specifically are down more than 15% this year but robberies are up 5%. However, Tulsa’s violent crime is up compared to other cities of similar size.

So as we go into the 2009, Fox 23’s Abbie Alford shows us the top ten crimes of 2008 in Green Country.

It’s a reminder to all of us of how we can help solve crime and live in a safer community.

The top ten crimes of 2008 cover ten crime including burglaries, robberies, and a teen that lost his life because of alleged mistaken identity

Tulsa police consider these crimes high profile so here’s a reminder to have a safer new year.

2008 had it’s share of criminals, police catching a group of robbers in front of sex shop, dogs found burned from acid and vulgar messages left on a gay couples home which wasn’t considered a hate crime.

is it just me, or does the term "top 10" sound like a list of movies or cds or something like that. "10 worst" maybe but not "top 10"

What kind of comparison is corporate crime to the loss of a child/loved one, or the raping of a child??? You people only can see dollar signs. My compassion goes out to anyone that has to feel the loss of a job due to the scandals that members of big corporations do. However, I have lost a child by the violent act of another. So until you can walk in my shoes or any other parents that has had a loved one killed...KEEP YOUR BIG MOUTHS SHUT.

How about the crimes against the people of Tulsa perpetrated by the city government? How about all that tax money that didn't get spent on what it was supposed to?

I'm surpirised Sym Group or Sym Corp or whatever their name is didn't make the top ten crimes. Funny how we see Corporate crime in a different light even tho the havoc it wrecks is just as bad.
