The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released the results of their annual New Year’s Eve enforcement operation.

For the 2nd year in a row there were no collisions reported in Tulsa Metro by OHP during the eight hour crackdown. 15 State Troopers assigned to the operation aggressively monitored highways to enforce traffic laws.

OHP issued the following citations:
  • 48- Speeding citations
  • 14- Driving under suspension citations
  • 139- Traffic offense warnings
  • 9- Jailed for DUI
  • 4- Jailed for drug offenses
"This is the outcome we were hoping for this year. Many people were made safe by outstanding efforts of men & women working for the patrol & partners in law enforcement, from the dispatchers behind the scenes, to the motorists calling in suspected drunken drivers and the troopers working the roads. This was a combined operation & everyone worked hard to ensure that at the end of the night, citizens went home safely to be with family & loved ones," said OHP spokesman LT George Brown.

According to the Tulsa Police Department website the following arrests were made between 5pm on New Year's Day and 5:30 am on New Year's day.

Public Intox: 13

DUI: 14

Drug Possession: 3

Open Container: 1

Intox/Disturbing the Peace: 1
