The Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested 10 people during a DUI enforcement initiative overnight. State Troopers were patrolling highways in Tulsa County from 7:00 pm until 3:30 am looking for drunk and dangerous drivers.
Seven people were arrested for suspicion of DUI. Troopers arrested three others for felony drug possession. Overall Troopers handed out 95 citations and warnings.
Troopers say they were pleased with the results of the initiative. Project supervisor, Lieutenant George Brown, said, "When Troopers deployed onto the roadways and put boots on the ground at 8:00 PM, there wasn't a single crash reported in Tulsa County during the remaining time of this initiative. Not one single person was injured in a traffic collision on Tulsa County highways during the time of this special project and we are exceptionally pleased with that result."
