State Troopers are ready for round two of the recent winter storm.

Officials said as of 4 a.m., roadways in and around the Tulsa Metro area remain slick and hazardous, especially elevated structures. Particular challenges which road crews are facing include the rate of fall for snow.

"We have been in contact with ODOT throughout the night and are told road crews have been struggling to keep up with the amount of snow which has fallen," OHP Captain George Brown said.

Problem areas for the Metro are designated as follows: The west I-244/I-44 junction of the IDL and B.A. Expressway. All areas of Tulsa County should be considered slick and hazardous and travel is strongly discouraged.

Road crews will continue plowing and sanding efforts throughout the morning and will focus on clearing two lanes of the interstate system. Northbound highways like U.S. 169 and 75 are accumulating snow faster than east-west roadways such as I-44 and I-244.

State Troopers will continue stepped-up patrols throughout the morning and into the evening hours. If you become stranded or in need of assistance, call *55 on your mobile phone and a Trooper will be dispatched to assist.

Response times may be delayed because of poor road conditions.

They only grade and de-ice main roads. The side roads will be even trickier.
