Oklahoma Blood Institute provides blood to hospitals in the metro-Oklahoma City hospitals and 140 others across the state.
They said the state’s blood supply is adequate to meet the needs of patients in all hospitals caring for victims of the Moore tornado. Since there is no substitute for blood, the supply constantly needs to be replenished. Donors, especially those with O-negative and Rh-negative blood types, are needed.
Anyone 16 years or older and in good health is encouraged to donate at any of the eleven OBI donor centers. Tulsa’s OBI donor center is located at 4601 East 81st St, just west of Yale.
