Organizers of the Norman Music Festival announced headliners for the annual festival on Tuesday.
On April 25, 26 and 27, Norman will rock to the beats of some of the best indie bands in the nation, including headliners, JD McPherson and The Joy Formidable.
“The Festival has lined up some incredible bands and we can’t wait to share them with the public,” says NMF Chair Kent Johnson.
On Saturday, April 27, downtown Norman will transform into one of the nation’s largest music festivals. To accommodate the growing audience, the Main Stage will be located at Main Street and Porter.
Big Sam’s Funky Nation, a driving force of urban funk and Garage Rock duo, King Kahn & BBQ Show will be featured on this year’s Main stage. Other bands scheduled to perform on the Main Stage include: Defining Times, Mike Dillon, Josh Sallee, The Grown-Ups and Feathered Rabbit.
The Norman Music Festival’s Jack Daniels Stage will feature Tulsa native JD McPherson and also includes: Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights, Elephant Revival, The O’s, Samantha Crain, Beau Jennings & the Tigers and local artist Kyle Reid.
A full list of bands performing the 2013 Norman Music Festival will be available in April.
The festival will again be held in downtown Norman, on Main Street in the Arts District, extending from the 300 blocks of E. Main Street to the railroad tracks.
The mission of the Norman Music Alliance is to promote live events for the community of Norman, Oklahoma, and the surrounding area that celebrates original music of many genres produced by local, regional and national musicians.
