Already people have started setting up for the Tulsa State Fair, and fair organizers know people like to plan their trip to the fairgrounds. This year, they have a plan to help a common problem: parking. Last year, FOX23 heard it loud and clear “The fair parking is always a huge ordeal,” one frustrated fair attendee said. We were finding family after family who were spending more time searching for a spot than enjoying the fair. Even fair staffers admit parking is something they hear about year after year. “Parking is always an issue,” Sarah Thompson with the Tulsa State Fair said. Thompson and other fair organizers are determined to make things better in 2012. “The most important thing to note that's new this year, is the fair transit system will be offered everyday of the fair,” she said. That means folks can park at TPS Education Services Center, Nathan Hale High School , or Promenade Mall and hop on free shuttle to the fair every day the fair is open, not just on weekends. “It's about a 15 minute ride and you’re dropped off at the pavilion, right by a gate, so you're in really quickly,” Thompson said. Fair organizers hope this will encourage more folks to come out to the fair on weekdays when the fair is less crowded “If you have young kids, coming through the week is a great idea, the crowds are a little bit lighter and we still have entertainment going on,” Thompson said. If you don't care about parking or shuttles, there are other new things this year at the Tulsa State Fair. “We have two new rides, the hard rock and the galaxy. They're great new spectacular rides that are kind of more for the adventurous fair-goer.” For the latest information on the Tulsa State Fair, visit their website by clicking here: http://www.tulsastatefair.com/
