A new clinic in Green Country is working to fill the gap in community health care needs.
NeoHealth Clinic is located in the Yorkshire Shopping Center in Muskogee and will offer family practice services, pain management and addiction treatment.
The CEO of NeoHealth, Angel Westbrook, says the federally qualified health care center will provide valuable services for patients in need.
“We don’t turn any one away for their ability to pay,” said Westbrook, “We focus on the underinsured and uninsured patients, but we will see everyone, regardless.”
Westbrook says there is a sliding fee scale guide in place for the uninsured that is based on their income and household size.
“In some cases, you can be seen for as little as $30 dollars and it goes up from there,” said Westbrook.
Medical Director, Dr. Kenneth Gibson, tells FOX23 the need for addiction treatment in the area is very high.
“My waiting list just continues to grow,” said Dr. Gibson.
He says he currently offers treatment for alcohol, stimulant, and cannabis and prescription addiction.
“Through the
American Board of Addiction Medicine,
SAMHSA and other federal organizations we are able to prescribe opiate maintenance based therapy from an office based setting,” said Dr. Gibson.
Jean Cutler of Muskogee tells FOX23 that she visited the clinic to investigate her options.
“It’s very difficult if you don’t have insurance to get what you need,” said Cutler. She added that the clinic offers a valuable service until she receives health insurance again. “I’m just so appreciative,” said Cutler.
Westbrook says that the focus isn’t about profit but about the health of the patients.
“There is a great need,” said Westbrook.
NeoHealth also has heath care clinics in Hulbert and Tahlequah. The clinic has a contract with Walgreens locations in Muskogee and patients without prescription coverage can get their medications filled for a reduced price.
The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Walk in patients are welcome.
