A new retail and road development in Broken Arrow will soon be built along Hillside Drive and Lynn Lane.

This road to nowhere has been a mystery for a while.

"People are wondering what's going on here. The traffic light was put in here several years ago but you couldn't go this way," said Wes Smithwick, CEO and president of the Broken Arrow Chamber.

But Smithwick tells FOX23 it's no secret.

"To your left here that will be pad sites for retail or restaurant and then the road curves off to your right and it weaves under the power lines," said Smithwick.

The area near Hillside Drive spells more shops and road access for drivers.

"There will be a new road going through here where people can drive to Los Cabos, Bass Pro, Charlestons area, all the way to the target area," Smithwick said.

He can't reveal what stores will be going in there just yet, but he told FOX23 that it will be a traffic game changer for drivers.

"It will allow citizens to parallel on the Broken Arrow Expressway from County Line Road to Aspen Avenue. So from 145th to 193rd there are access roads from the expressway that allow residents to access those retail and restaurants and other amenities," Smithwick said.

By connecting drivers to different restaurants and building more stores, Smithwick says the project will hopefully make a big impact on the north side of Broken Arrow.
