FOX23 has new information in the armed robbery and shooting that happened at a home near 51st and Lewis.
We brought you this story as breaking news Monday night on FOX23 News at 9 and now we have learned from robbery detectives that this case may be connected to another.
We talked with the people who live near the shooting.
They didn't want to go on camera but they did tell me the man shot is their daughter's boyfriend.
They say he had surgery this morning and is expected to be okay.
We also found out some neighbors are taking action.
"Boom boom, real fast," said neighbor Melissa Cristel.
It was too close for comfort for her, she explained she was walking home from her neighbor's house a few doors down.
"As soon as I walked in the door and sat on the couch I heard the shots," said Cristel.
Her immediate response was the clinch her holster that she wears on her hip, holding a loaded pistol.
"I have been carrying it around in my car all day."
Tulsa police robbery detectives said two men tried to rob another and then shot him.
Tuesday, police told FOX23 they believe this case is related to Sunday's armed robbery at the Walgreens just down the street.
The detective is keeping an eye on the neighborhood so we aren't showing his face.
He said the descriptions in both robberies are similar.
But it's not the only similarity -- "The times and the styles they are using" are similar too, the detective said.
Detectives believe the two are linked, so while they are working leads, neighbors tells me they are taking precautions.
"I'm not going to walk around without my weapon now," Critel said.
