New businesses are getting ready to break ground in Owasso.

In about six  months, on a plot of land on the southwest corner of Sam's Club, just east of  Highway 169, off 96th Street North, you'll find Whataburger and Hideaway  Pizza.

"I'm thrilled.  I like Hideaway Pizza.  I don't eat many  burgers, but I like Hideaway Pizza," lifelong resident Dennis Jernigan told  FOX23 News.

"We're excited.  We always have that attitude of 'What's  next? What are we going to get here next?'  Those companies have been on  that 'When Are We Gonna Get' list for quite some time," said Owasso Chamber of  Commerce President Gary Akin.

Akin tells FOX23, thanks to Sam's Club, the  infrastructure is already here.

"What was once, just a couple of years  ago, a piece of agricultural property, has now been developed into a commercial  property," said Akin.

"It was agricultural property, and then extended  the infrastructure: the water, the drainage, the road work, expanding 96th  Street North," Akin said.

"I've been around this city since it was all  hay fields where we're standing today," said Jernigan.

FOX23 asked the  lifelong Owassoan if he's pleased with all of the growth and  development.

"Yeah.  It's nice," said Jernigan.

FOX23 reached  out to Hideaway Pizza to find out when they expect to break ground.  A  spokesperson tells us one of the business owners actually lives in  Owasso.

He's been getting a lot of questions about opening a location  here, and is excited to finally make it happen.

The new Hideaway Pizza  will be two levels, with more than 5,000 square feet on the main level,  including a full bar, and another 1,354 square feet upstairs, to provide a patio  and mezzanine.

We found out Hideaway Pizza is still working through the  permit process with the City of Owasso.

They hope to break ground  in two weeks, and open their doors by the end of the summer.

A company  spokeswoman tells us they'll bring as many as 100 jobs to  Owasso.

Hideaway Pizza will be built on the same slab as Whataburger, but  the two restaurants will have separate entrances.

FOX23 reached out to  Whataburger, to find out when they expect to open their doors, but spokespersons  never returned our calls.

Kind of hard to believe there wasn't a Whataburger in Owasso already.
