The Tulsa Public Schools district agreed to sell the old Barnard school building Monday night for $1.5 Million dollars.

The property went up in flames last year.

"Were excited it's not gonna be a vacant lot anymore," said Liz Rohrbacker.

She has lived in the area for more than 5 years. Rohrbacker is happy that Lindsay Developments bought the property.

The lot will used to build 18 single family homes. They will be built with character that's fitting with the neighborhood.

"Keep the neighborhood with the integrity and age of the looks of the homes," said Rohrbacker.

TPS will use the money to fund about 24 teaching positions.
