Four women are found shot to death inside a south Tulsa apartment complex.
On Monday afternoon, police swarmed the Fairmont Terrace apartment complex near 61st and Peoria. Inside one of the apartments, they found four bodies and a three year old boy. He was not hurt.
The 61st and Peoria area is considered to be one of Tulsa’s most dangerous neighborhoods with people reporting gunfire on a regular basis.
Now, neighbors are left wondering who might be next.
Amanda Davis is a single mom. She says she was on her way up to the office to pay her rent, when she was startled to see numerous police cars in the parking lot.
"The violence out here is crazy,” she says.
She’s only lived here for 7 months now, and the thought of a gunman taking the lives of four women frightens her to death.
"I have a four year old daughter and I am a single mom and this is scary,” she says.
Amanda immediately called her father who told her to leave as quickly as possible. Police say they were called around 12:30 Monday afternoon, and officers believe the deaths of the four women happened sometime between 11:30 and 12:30. Police immediately conducted a massive search and questioned dozens of people.
"What happened today, well I just don't understand it. I walked outside and all of this was going on,” says another frightened neighbor named Jeanette.
She has lived here for nine years, and although she's seen her fair share of violence here at Fairmont Terrace, this most recent crime has her really on edge.
"It's really a sad situation,” says Jeanette.
As police continue to search for the suspect, residents are left wandering if they should move elsewhere.
"It's traumatic and it's very tragic and I pray for their families. I truly do,” says Davis.
