Oklahoma Highway Patrol said they will release the names and status of the two OHP troopers Sunday. The troopers were shot following a chase overnight Friday.

FOX23 News first reported the incident on Saturday.

Investigators are still trying to identify the suspect who died on the scene.

OHP officials said troopers were trying to catch a driver in a white van who refused to stop on I-35 in Del City.

The chase continued to I-40 and that driver finally stopped in the area of Southeast 9th Street on Sunnylane Road.

The suspect didn't give up and shot at the troopers, who then shot back.

Officials told FOX23 that both troopers were shot, one in the face and the other in the leg. They were both transported to hospitals, both listed in stable condition.

The suspect was shot and killed at the scene.

His name has not been released and OHP officials said they're still investigating why he was running from troopers.

If the troopers shot each other in the crossfire, they likely wont be wanting to talk to reporters until they can agree on a story. Dashcam video will tell, it's public record.
