A Muskogee woman is behind bars after police say she asked two friends to help her kill her boyfriend. Thirty-year-old Kenna Morrison is facing numerous charges.
Family members tell FOX23 that she lived in a trailer with an older man, and they often felt as though she would take advantage of him.
Cooper Holman is Kenna Morrison's nephew and he says the family is still in shock right now after just finding out that his aunt was arrested.
"I don't know why you would even think about taking another person's life," he says.
Muskogee police say that Morrison was arrested after her two friends told officers she had asked them to help her kill her boyfriend.
"She had telephoned them and we were also to obtain that from them. They recorded that conversation and provided it to us," says Cpl. Michael Mahan.
Police aren't exactly clear on a motive, but they have reason to believe it may have been money.
Cooper says the family found it strange when Morrison and her four children moved in with the older man.
Officers believe the two hadn't been getting along for a while now.
Holman remembers warning the man about his aunt after she had moved in.
"He even asked me what type of person is she and I told him just watch yourself and don't let your guard down. I'm glad I told him that at least," says Holman.
Police were able to call her boyfriend and let him know his life was in danger, and then promptly arrested her. She faces solicitation for murder and conspiracy charges.
Officers say that a third man was solicited by Morrison to help with the murder but he is currently cooperating with the investigation.
This investigation is a collaborative effort between the Muskogee Police Department and the FBI.
