For more than two months, members of a Muskogee County family has been hoping for their loved one to come home.
The Muskogee County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help to find 16-year-old Dillon Jones.
FOX23 learned this is a case deputies say they have put many hours into. They told FOX23 after interviewing those who knew Jones and trying to piece together what happened the last time he was seen, they feel some people may be holding vital information.
Jones has not been seen since Nov. 15, 2013.
He's a high school sophomore who lives and works in Porum.
"He was supposed to ride the school bus but didn't, some friends gave him a ride, he cashed his check from Sonic and he hasn't been seen since," said Muskogee County Sheriff C. Pearsons.
For more than two months, the sheriff's office has interviewed his friends and his family, but said they feel some people may be withholding information.
"There are some people out there in the public that know more than what they're telling us," said Pearsons.
Deputies do know that Jones was a kid who lived with his grandmother and had a little trouble in the past, but they say nothing was serious enough for him to just disappear.
Family members suspect he may have made friends with the wrong crowd.
"We have one person that we are trying to find right now that was with him, and we hope that will shed a lot of light," said Pearsons..
Investigators told FOX23 they feel they have been close to finding Jones at different times from the information they've received.
"His cellphone was turned off and then turned back on," said Pearsons.
Authorities said there have been helpful tips and some they feel have put the investigation at a standstill.
But they say they will continue to search for Jones until he is found.
"We want to resolve this for the grandparents and we want to find this young man and if there is a problem, help…whatever we need to do," said Pearsons.
The sheriff told FOX23 there is no reason to suspect foul play at this time.
