Police said there was more than $12,000 worth of air conditioner units stolen in less than a week in one Green Country city.

FOX23 learned thieves are targeting units from vacant buildings around the city of Muskogee.

FOX23’s Price McKeon read through police reports and found thieves stole thousands of dollars’ worth of air conditioner units from two businesses right next to each other. She also found a couple miles away thieves stole units from two other properties.

Police said rising metal and copper prices are just adding to the problem.

Police have not been able to connect any of the thefts but they aren’t ruling any connection out.
