Muskogee police investigate shooting

Muskogee Police are investigating a shooting that took place near North 7th and Market Street.

Police say around 11 a.m. officers were dispatched to the location where they found an 19-year-old victim with two gunshot wounds, one to the left leg near the calf muscle and the other to the back. The victim’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Police arrested Tevin Adams and Richard Johnson. Adams faces a count of shooting with intent to kill, Johnson faces a count of shooting with intent to kill and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

Police identified the victim as Dominique Wright.

The Early Childhood Center at 901 Emporia was placed on temporary lockdown during the incident. That lockdown has been lifted.
