The Muskogee VA Regional Office will be open for normal operations on Monday, October 7th.
Officials tell FOX23 that should a federal budget resolution not be passed before employees report to work on Tuesday, the regional office will initiate an orderly shut-down of non-essential operations on Tuesday, October 8th.
In the event of a shutdown, the regional office will not be open to the public after 4:00 pm, Monday, October 7th.
However, claims processing activities and payments in the compensation, pension, education, and vocational rehabilitation programs are anticipated to continue through late October.
Officials said in the event of a prolonged shutdown, claims processing and payments in these programs would be suspended when available funding is exhausted.
