Mom, Becky Kruse, lost her 22-year-old son, Adam, to suicide five years ago.

Becky began to write him letters during the grieving process to cope and then turned it into a book, Note to Adam:One mother's struggle to cope with suicide.

"From a parent's perspective, it's an awful, horrible tragedy, you never truly get over. My heart is still broken and there is still a hole there but its gotten softer, time does help," said Becky.

Following the suicide of a Coweta student at school Monday, Feb. 4, she shares with FOX23 some of the signs in loved ones who could be having suicidal thoughts:
  • withdraw
  • isolate
  • disassociate
  • cut ties with family and friends

Becky told FOX23 that Oklahoma is one of the top 10 states with the highest suicide rate. A statistic she hopes can change in her lifetime.
