The mother of an alleged rape victim has filed a lawsuit against Victory Christian Center for intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The mother of the alleged victim spoke to FOX23 in early September, she told FOX23 "By not reporting it in time to allow you know the window of evidence. For us to be there for her, all kinds of things. I cannot even begin to explain how angry that makes me feel."
Tulsa police say on August 13st Chris Denman raped a 13-year old girl in the stairwell of Victory Christian Center. TPD says the girl told staffers about the incident two days later but those staffers did not tell the girl’s mother until August 30th.
Five Victory Christian staff members have been charged with misdemeanor counts of failure to report child abuse.
VCC officials have suspended staffers they say failed to follow policy about reporting child abuse and say the organization is working with DHS to make sure they have the best policy to keep children safe.
