There are some issues critically important for women that don't make the cover of women's magazines or the daytime talk shows. Dark secrets some women suffer with for years.
FOX23's Mia Fleming found several Tulsa women, everyday mothers from middle and upper income families who agreed to divulge those secrets about addiction, survival, and even betrayal in the hope that their story will save you or someone you love from the intense pain they've endured.
On the surface they're hard working middle and upper class women. Women who would do anything to give their kids the best education and care. But as FOX 23's Mia Fleming reports, thousands of super moms have an addiction to the cheap and easily obtained drug, methamphetamine.
This next story is probably not the meth story you're used to hearing, but we hope it will open your eyes for your family's safety or for the safety of someone you know or love.
A mother who had it all, but late in life turned to meth. She doesn't live in a rural or poor area and she doesn't come from a life of drug addiction. She's your neighbor, that typical mother next door that you'd never guess is cooking meth instead of cooking dinner.
Tulsa and Tulsa County average about one meth lab bust a day. Tulsa Police report more than 200 meth lab busts this year. That's more than half the days of a calendar year. And of those busts almost two-dozen children were exposed to potentially harmful chemicals.
