The duo dubbed by police 'a modern day Bonnie and Clyde' are in custody and being questioned by police.

Police arrested Harold Watkins, 43, and a woman who police say is his wife, Patricia Simer, 22, for armed robbery. FOX23 News was there when police took the couple and another man into custody on Wednesday.

FOX23 News spoke with robbery detectives who say a bank teller recognized Watkins and said he was carrying a bag given to new customers.

Police said they went back a year and checked records of new customers who opened an account and found Watkins.

On Tuesday, pictures of a bank robber at Tinker Federal Credit Unit at 7th & Main showed the man looking in the cameras and wearing a fedora hat. The hat looked similar to a hat worn during a previous robbery.

The couple is also accused of robbing a Cricket Wireless at 68th and South Peoria Avenue, a Sonic in west Tulsa, a  check-and-cash at the 81st and the Walmart on South Lewis Avenue.

Since April 29, police have released surveillance photos to FOX23 News and have been tracking the couple's alleged crimes.

Police went to their home and arrested Watkins, Simer and another man, 26-year old Patrick Wilcockson, who is suspected of driving the Dodge Durango described in the robberies.

Police are relieved to catch the suspects. They thanked the public for being watchful and calling in several tips.

Robbery Sgt. Brandon Watkins said the duo was bound to get caught, “there is no such thing as a criminal mastermind.”

Robbery detectives said they dubbed the duo "Bonnie and Clyde" because of their violence. The man was known to tie up clerks, grabbed a victim's hair and pointed guns at their heads. They believe Simer was wearing a wig during the heists.

Jail records show Harold Watkins, a former felon, faces four counts of armed  robbery and is being held on $400,000 bond. Simer faces two counts of  armed robbery and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Wilcockson faces three charges of armed robbery and is being held on $150,000 bond.

Sgt. Watkins also  mentioned they could face federal charges because the alleged crimes involved a bank and  businesses.
