If you have searched for it, they store it. Google Data Center in Pryor is ready to break ground on another facility and additional construction means heightened security.
"Even if our CEO wanted to come site he would have to have approval as well," said Google Operations Manager, Mike Wooten. Security is no joke at the center which boasts infrared cameras, retina and fingerprint scanners and badge requirements.
One security guard on site has the bark and bite to keep the building safe. "Miss G is our secret weapon," said Wooten. That 'secret weapon' and key player on the security team has four furry paws and one eye.
"She's pretty much fallen into a pile of clover and is pretty much adopted and loved by everybody," said Google Security Manager, Pat Carr.
Carr said Miss G wandered on to the property five years ago after she was dumped by her owner. The dog was hungry, dirty and missing an eye. "The vet believes a raccoon might have got her in a fight," said Carr.
Her named evolved from Google, to Miss Google before employees settled on Miss G.
Security guards said that Miss G is a full time fixture at the gate and patrols the grounds on foot. When she isn't with security guards she is often resting in her doghouse by the fence.
"It's not uncommon to find her laying in the middle of the road, checking to see who you are and if you really belong here," said Carr.
Employees at Google said that they are heads and tails over Miss G. "She's always here, always watching," said Carr, "She's a great dog."
