(TULSA, Okla.) November 3- Millions approved for I44 widening project.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has approved $65 million dollars for additional roadwork.

The new construction will happen between Lewis and Harvard to just west of Yale on I44.  This is in addition to work that is already being done on an underground drainage ditch near I44 & Peoria.

This particular project will be around one and half miles long.  The goal is to widen the lanes to six, improve the entrance and exit ramps, and also replace the bridge along Harvard.

ODOT says this will cause some headaches for drivers while the work is being done and they are asking drivers to be patient until the job is done.

Two lanes will be kept open at all times while the construction project is being finished.
