Neighbors in midtown Tulsa are working to clean up the mess a storm left behind on Tuesday night.

Many people are dealing with downed trees.

Near 39th and Delaware a large tree damaged home. No one inside was injured.

John Mabry, his wife and their baby were asleep when the storm hit late Tuesday night. Around 11:30 p.m., they awoke to a loud crash.

Mabry was shocked to see a large tree crushed his garage. It also damaged his SUV and destroyed his wife's vehicle.

Mabry told FOX23 the tree is probably 50 years old, and it's one of the reasons he and his neighbors love this area so much.

All things considered he's grateful his family wasn't injured.

"It could have been worse and it could have actually hit in our bedroom and we have a 10 month old so obviously that was our primary concern," he said.

The family has insurance. While Mabry waits for the damage estimate, he said he's taking the day off to get his house in order.

Patti Orbison said she slept right through the storms.

However, when she woke up this morning, she couldn't believe her eyes. A tree had fallen over on its side and slammed into the back side of her house.

It's not just the damage to her home and yard that she's concerned about. She tells me she's lived in the area a long time, and the trees here are over 50 years old.

When she came outside and saw what happened she said fear immediately set in.

"Panic because you don't know what to do, who to call or which direction to go," she said.

Orbison said the tree damaged her yard, the siding on her house, her gutters and the roof.

Orbison has insurance and is working to get a tree removal company out here quick.

Thank God the damage was contained only to Midtown. So glad to know no one else outside of Midtown had any issues.
