Meningitis scare is false alarm

A Sand Springs church pastor now says a meningitis scare that cancelled services on Sunday turned out not to be meningitis after all.

The pastor of Word of Life church says a child from the congregation tested negative for the disease.  The little girl's family had told the pastor she was being tested for meningitis.  The pastor chose to cancel services as a precaution and urged parents to watch children for symptoms.

So far no other children have shown signs of illness.
